PH poomsae team wins 5 silvers, 3 bronzes in Asian championships

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine poomsae team copped five silver and three bronze medals in the 2022 Asian Taekwondo Championships in Chuncheon, South Korea.

Janna Dominique Oliva settled for a runner-up finish in freestyle poomsae individual female over 17, while Darius Venerable also earned a silver medal in the individual male division.

Oliva and Venerable also steered the national team to a second-place finish in the freestyle poomsae mixed team over 17 with Justine Kobe Macario, Jeordan Dominguez, and Juvenile Crisostomo.

In the recognized poomsae Team Male Under 30, Joaquin Tuzon, Enrico Mella, and Patrick King Perez also finished as runner-ups.

Rodolfo Reyes Jr. had another silver medal in the recognized poomsae individual male under 30.

Reyes also earned bronze with 31st Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Jocel Ninobla in the recognized poomsae pair under 30.

Macario and Crisostomo also reached the podium as third placers in the freestyle poomsae pair over 17.

Angelica Gaw, Aidaine Laxa, at Laeia Soria also copped a bronze medal in the recognized poomsae team female under 30.
