Alex Eala advances in singles, doubles events at W25 Palma del Rio

MANILA, Philippines—Alex Eala steamrolled Jimar Gerald Gonzalez of Chile, 6-2, 6-0, and into the second round of the W25 Palma del Rio in Spain on Tuesday.
Eala takes on Valeria Savinykh or second seed Jessika Ponchet of France in the Round-of-16.

The 17-year-old Eala is also competing in doubles where she and Marina Bassols Ribera of Spain are in the quarterfinal.
