Manalo, Tiu, Millet eyeing drag race titles

DEFENDING champion Martin Manalo and multititled Jonathan Tiu will dispute the centerpiece crown as over 120 drivers compete in the final leg of the 2012 Philippine Drag Racing Championships Southern Series at the Batangas Racing Circuit Drag Strip.

Arvin Jay Millet, the youngest racer at 19, will also gun for the Yokohama Expert title after winning the first two legs of the series.  He currently holds the solo lead with 31 points.  Ace San Agustin occupies second with 16 points.

In the Drag Racing National Championship category, Millet is also in strong contention for titles in the M&H Pro class, where he’s third overall with 31 points, and Expert division, which he paces with with 46 points.

The other title hopefuls are Miguel Mendoza in the HKS Sportsman class and Dennis Pernes in the GT Radial Hotstreet division.
