PVL: Absence of key cogs too much for Chery Tiggo in loss to Choco Mucho
MANILA, Philippines — Chery Tiggo coach Clarence Esteban had a tough coaching debut after missing five of his players in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational Conference.
The Crossovers missed five players with Dindin Santiago-Manabat spraining her ankle in practice, while EJ Laure, Buding Duremdes, Alina Bicar, and Justine Dorog missed the opener due to health and safety protocols.

“Some of our members tested entered the health and safety protocols after our practice. Because every training, we undergo test. There was no close contact because we’re cautious every time we train,” he added.
After a losing debut, Esteban is sticking to the positives with his undermanned team putting up a gallant stand against Choco Mucho, especially in the third set.

As Chery Tiggo tries to bounce back against PLDT on Tuesday, Esteban still believes his remaining wards led by Mylene Paat can fill in the absence of their teammates.
“All of my players can fill in their roles. They are ready regardless of the situation,” he said.
