Hidilyn Diaz weds coach Julius Naranjo; fellow Olympians in attendance
MANILA, Philippines — On the first anniversary of her historic Olympic gold medal win, Hidiyln Diaz tied the knot with her coach and longtime partner, Julius Naranjo, and united several sports personalities during their intimate ceremony on Wednesday in Baguio City.
Several sports officials and athletes attended the Naranjo-Diaz wedding with Philippine Olympic Committee President Bambol Tolentino and PBA chairman Ricky Vargas gracing the special day of the “golden girl” as principal sponsors.
Article continues after this advertisementHer fellow Olympians Eumir Marcial and Nesthy Petecio of boxing and skateboard star Margielyn Didal also attended the wedding ceremony.
World Games Karateka champion Junna Tsukii and billiards star Rubilen Amit as well as former PBA stars Alvin Patrimonio and Chris Tiu were also present.
Diaz brought her 2020 Tokyo Olympic gold and 2016 Rio silver medals and wore both during their photoshoot after the wedding.

Among Naranjo and Diaz’s principal sponsors were Samahang Weightlifting ng Pilipinas president Monico Puentevella, Senator Manny Pacquiao, Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas chairman emeritus Manny V. Pangilinan, and Ramon S. Ang of San Miguel Corporation.
Former Vice President Leni Robredo, actress Judy Anne Santos-Agoncillo, doctor Vicki Belo, brother Bo Sanchez, actress Judy Ann Santos, Angel Locsin, and Iza Calzado were also part of the entourage as listed in their invitation.
