LAS VEGAS—There’s relative calm at the Manny Pacquiao camp on the eve of his showdown with the Desert Storm.
Pacquiao was so relaxed, he was a picture of serenity at his 60th floor suite in Mandalay Bay’s THEhotel here.
With his wife Jinkee and four children around, the Fighter of the Decade who’s staking his World Boxing Organization welterweight crown against Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley is all the more determined to come up with a special performance.
He wants a knockout victory according to his chief trainer, Freddie Roach.
In tiptop shape and spiritually renewed, Pacquiao is out to prove his detractors and doubters wrong.
He’s highly confident that the speed and power that made him the only eight-divison world champion are still there and that he can knock anybody in the 147-pound division.
Roach knows that, of course. He’d seen Pacquiao’s transformation from a happy-go-lucky guy to a family-centered father.
He’d seen Pacquiao’s new drive and passion in their eight-week training camp.
After retiring to bed early last night, Pacquiao will do his morning walk Saturday inside the hotel complex to loosen up his muscles for the 12-round pay-per-view bout.
