Filoil Preseason Cup: Jerom Lastimosa comes up clutch anew for Adamson
MANILA, Philippines–Jerom Lastimosa continued to be Adamson’s savior even in the preseason.
The Falcons once again relied on Lastimosa to escape with a 68-61 victory over University of the Perpetual Help in Group A of the Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup in San Juan Arena on Wednesday.
Article continues after this advertisementWith the Altas closely behind, 65-61, with 34.6 ticks remaining in the fourth period, Lastimosa nailed the dagger of a triple from the top of the key to put the game beyond reach, 68-61.
“At the end, I didn’t see any open teammates anymore so my mindset was ‘I’m going to take this shot’,” said Lastimosa, who finished with 18 points in the win.
The 24-year-old shooter is not a stranger when it comes to the closing moments of games, taking shots in the clutch for Adamson when needed back in UAAP Season 84.

The Falcons sat comfortably in the lead at the end of the third quarter, 54-37, when the Altas unloaded a 12-1 run early in the fourth to close in, 55-49.
Adamson outscored Perpetual in the paint, 38-26.
The Falcons also got contributions from Jose Manuel Sabandal and Vince Magbuhos, who finished with 1o apiece.
Perpetual’s Cyrus Nitura, Jielo Razon and Kim Aurin tallied, 16, 15 and 10, respectively.
