MANILA, Philippines — Basketball star Kiefer Ravena cleared the air amid the recent dating rumors, insisting that he and Alyssa Valdez “both agreed to move on peacefully and we respect each other’s decisions.”
Ravena also clarified that the rumors surrounding his dating life “are completely false.”
“These past few days have been dirty and ugly. It’s time to put a halt to it. Alyssa released a statement in May regarding our separation last January,” Ravena wrote on his Twitter account which is now set to private. “We both agreed to move on peacefully and we respect each other’s decisions.”
“Rumors that I am dating anyone right now are completely false and hurtful, especially to those who have been unwittingly dragged into this issue,” he added.
The Shiga Lakestars guard in Japan B.League is asking everyone to be “kind to one another” after his family, friends, and other names have been dragged into the issue.
He also acknowledged that he made past mistakes but already learned from them.
“However, family, friends, acquaintances, and a lot of innocent names have been dragged into this issue and their reputations stained because of unfounded assumptions and malicious accusations,” Ravena said.
“I’ve made mistakes in the past but I’ve learned from those mistakes. But these still do not give anybody the right to bash others. Let’s all be kind to one another,” he added.
