Taguig City warmly welcomes Jordan Clarkson

MANILA, Philippines — Mayor Lani Cayetano and the entire Tenement community warmly welcomed NBA star and Gilas Pilipinas Player Jordan Clarkson in his visit anew to the Tenement court in Barangay Western Bicutan, Taguig City, today.

The Tenement court was among the places Clarkson visited for his outreach program to children who, like him,  truly love the game of basketball.

He gave the children who are members of the Tenement Basketball Team t-shirts, basketball shoes and autographed basketballs.

A basketball clinic that saw other Gilas Pilipinas team members participating was also put up.

Mayor Cayetano, for her part, expressed her deepest gratitude for Clarkson’s unwavering love for and inspiration to young players, especially those from Tenement which he has already visited many times.

Taguig City hopes for the continued success of Filipino athletes, just like Clarkson’s.

“We wish Clarkson all the very best and please know that Taguig City particularly Tenement will be praying and cheering for your continued success,” she said.

“The City of Taguig joins the Philippines in expressing support for and praying for the victory of Clarkson and the entire  Gilas Pilipinas team in their FIBA World Cup 2022 stint,” Cayetano added.

This is the third time that Clarkson visited the Tenement basketball court in Taguig, with the NBA star always making it a point to stop by every time he comes back to the Philippines.

The Tenement court is also a frequent destination by basketball superstars that include Lebron James who visited in  2015.

Meanwhile, young Taguigeños continue to battle it out on the basketball court in the Taguig Games 2022.
