MANILA, Philippines—Two tickets to Fiba 3×3 World Tour Cebu Masters are at stake in the 2022 Chooks-to-Go International Standalone Quest on September 16 at Ayala Malls Solenad, Pasay.

Eight teams, including the Philippines’ Cebu Chooks, Manila Chooks, and Butuan Chooks, will compete in the level eight tournament.

Mongolia will send three teams for the one-day knockout event, namely Ulaanbaatar, Zaisan, and Zavkhan. Japan will send Saitama and Malaysia will deploy Kuala Lumpur.

No team from the Philippines has yet to qualify for the Cebu Masters.

“Even though we are the host of the Cebu Masters, nothing is a given. We need to win and get as many Philippine teams to Cebu,” Chooks president Ronald Mascariñas said.

Saturday’s victor will not just qualify for a main seat at Cebu, but will also take home $10,000. The second place team, on the other hand, will have a qualifying draw slot in the level 10 tournament.

Belgium’s Antwerp, Latvia’s Riga, the Netherlands’ Amsterdam, Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah, Switzerland’s Lausanne, Mongolia’s Sansar, USA’s Omaha, Japan’s Utsunomiya, India’s Ludhiana, and Qatar’s Doha have already clinched spots for the Masters, happening on October 1 and 2 at SM Seaside.

“There’s no pushover team in this tournament and we need to put our foot on the pedal at all times,” said head coach Chico Lanete.
