MANILA, Philippines—San Sebastian may lose one player in its rotation for its upcoming game against the Perpetual Help Altas on Tuesday in the NCAA men’s basketball tournaemnt.
Rhinwil Yambing of the Golden Stags suffered a right ankle sprain during their 100-96 loss to College of St. Benilde.
“My landing spot was right on his (Sangco) foot. It doesn’t hurt much anymore, just mild, but questionable [for next game],” Yambing confirmed after the game.
With the Blazers leading, 66-47, in the third quarter, Yambing attempted a shot from the corner when he landed on Benilde’s Mark Sangco’s foot and twisted his ankle.
He was rushed to the bench with 2:28 left in the period.
The 6-foot-3 wing, however, reassured that the Stags will continue to improve for their next game against the 1-1 Altas.
“We’ll bounce back next game. We’ll try to correct our mistakes so when the next game comes, we can execute plays more properly,” said Yambing.
In two games for the Golden Stags, Yambing averaged seven points and three rebounds per game.
