Ginebra rallies past Petron behind Caguioa

Mark Caguioa: Ginebra savior

MANILA, Philippinesw—Mark Caguioa led a frantic Barangay Ginebra run as the Gin Kings rallied to hold off Petron, 83-80, Sunday night in the 2012 PBA Governors’ Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Caguioa hit two crucial threes with the second giving Ginebra the lead, 76-73, for good.


Alex Cabagnot tried to salvage the game for the Boosters as his triple put his team to within two, 80-82, with 21.5 seconds left.

Cabagnot, though, missed a potential game-tying three after Kerby Raymundo split his free throws.


Caguioa finished with 19 points.
