MANILA, Philippines—Lyceum’s rise to the NCAA standings can be attributed to a total team effort, though, a big chunk of that comes from the contributions of Mac Guadaña especially the past week.

After dropping their season opener against College of St. Benilde, the Pirates have gone on to win their next five games behind Guadaña’s solid showing.

Guadaña is averaging 12 points, 2.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.8 steals per game this season and he has upped the ante in his last two outings where he led the Pirates to a comeback win over Perpetual Help and a gutsy victory over defending champion Letran on Sunday.

Guadaña normed 16 points, two rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals in the pair of victories to earn the Collegiate Press Corps Player of the Week honor.

“I’ll try and maintain these types of performances by continuing to put in the extra work. I’ll put more effort for sure,” he said.

Guadaña edged Enoch Valdez, Arellano’s Axel Doromal, St. Benilde’s JC Cullar, San Beda’s James Kwekuteye and Perpetual’s Jielo Razon for the citation.
