PBA: Baser Amer scores clutch 3 as Blackwater upsets San Miguel

MANILA, Philippines–Blackwater spoiled the debut of San Miguel Beer with a stunning comeback to take a 109-106 win on Wednesday in the 2022 PBA Commissioner’s Cup at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Baser Amer’s three-pointer with 31.7 seconds left gave the Bossing a one-point lead before a Mike Ayonayon steal and layup extended the margin that turned out to be the final scoreline.

Cameron Krutwig registered a triple-double as Blackwater bounced back from its stunning collapse last week against NLEX.

FEATURED STORIES

Krutwig had 20 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists.

San Miguel, a month removed from winning the Philippine Cup, lost despite leading by a high of 15.

Import Diamond Stone, who was hastily tapped following Thomas Robinson’s injury, made 20 points and eight rebounds for San Miguel.

June Mar Fajardo posted 23 points and 16 rebounds in a losing cause for San Miguel.
