MANILA, Philippines—Returning to form, Anthony Davis led the Los Angeles Lakers past the Golden State Warriors, 124-121, in a preseason game on Monday (Manila time) at Chase Center in San Francisco, California.

Davis, who appeared in only 76 games the past two seasons combined due to injuries, looked like his old self—scoring in a variety of ways and making his presence felt on the defensive end—to finish with 28 points, three rebounds, three assists and one block.

The 29-year-old Davis played just 21 minutes and scored 24 of his points in the first half to set the tone for the Lakers, who were without LeBron James and Russell Westbrook.

Kendrick Nunn had another impressive performance with 21 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field, four rebounds and seven assists off the bench for the Lakers.

The 27-year-old guard, a member of the NBA All-Rookie Team in 2020, missed the entirety of last season due to a bone bruise.

The Lakers also appeared to have found a gem in Matt Ryan, who showcased his outside touch by hitting six of his nine attempts from long range in the second half for 20 points.

In his first game since the altercation with teammate Draymond Green, Jordan Poole paced the Warriors with 25 points while Steph Curry had 24.
