Nuqui, Co roll perfect games in 24th Sletba Open

MANILA — Patrick Nuqui and Cole Co, both members of the Pasig Bowling Association (PBA), have scored perfect games in the qualifying rounds of the 24th Sta. Lucia East Tenpin Bowling Association (Sletba) Open Championships.

Nuqui, who is also a member of the national team, did his 300-game Thursday night on Lanes 27-28 using a 15-pound Storm IQ Tour Edition. This is his fourth career perfect game and second in a sanctioned tournament.

Cole Co

Co, on the other hand, scored his perfect game on Wednesday at Lanes 25-26 using a 15-pound Hammer Onyx Vibe. This is his third career perfect game and second in a sanctioned tournament.

Both Nuqui and Co are playing in the Mixed Masters Open division of the Sletba Open which is being held at the Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall Bowling Center in Cainta, Rizal.

Their perfect games have helped catapult them into the 2nd and 3rd positions in the division’s top qualifiers who will play in the finals on Sunday. They will compete against some of the best bowlers in the country, among them Philippine bowling legend Paeng Nepomuceno, national coach Biboy Rivera, 2017 Women’s Bowling World Cup champion Krizziah Tabora-Macatula, and National Team standout and defending Sletba Open champion Merwin Tan.

Scheduled for today, Friday (Oct. 14), at 3 p.m. is the finals of the Senior Classified group.
