MANILA, Philippines—Kai Sotto was barely a factor in Adelaide’s season-opening loss against Tasmania, 97-72, in Australia’s National Basketball League on Thursday (Philippine time).

Sotto was limited by the 36ers to only five minutes of action against the Jack Jumpers where he finished with four points, three rebounds and a block on the defensive end.

Josh Magette starred in Tasmania’s win with a game-high 23 points, including 14 in the opening quarter to give them a huge opening run, 32-10.

On the other end, Craig Randall led the 36ers in scoring with 18 markers and three boards.

Sotto also rode the bench in his squad’s last preseason game against the Oklahoma City Thunder where he was scoreless in nine minutes of play.

The 36ers will look to bounce against the Illawarra Hawks on Saturday.
