MANILA, Philippines – Lawyer Romulo Macalintal, who personally watched the Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley fight Sunday at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, wants an investigation into the controversial split decision.
Interviewed over Radyo Inquirer 990AM on Monday, Macalintal doubted even the judge who scored in favor of Pacquiao.
“Dalawang puntos lang ang lamang niya kay Bradley. Sabi ko, dapat may investigation ang Nevada [Athletic] Commission kung bakit ganito ang resulta. We are entitled to a credible result,” he said when interviewed over Radyo Inquirer 990AM on Monday.
Macalintal recounted seeing his seatmate during the bout, “Bourne Legacy” actor Jeremy Renner, shook his head in disbelief when Bradley was declared the winner.
Even the actor, the lawyer said, was so sure that Pacquiao won the fight.
Boxing analysts as well as majority of the viewers at the MGM Grand Arena were also convinced that Pacquiao would be named the winner, he said.
Macalintal feared that the controversial decision could result in lower viewership of future boxing fights.
