Reigning underbone King Anthony Roman and Miko Erich Montano bagged top honors in the third leg of the Philippine Scooter Racing Championships and Philippine Underbone King Championships held recently at the Batangas Racing Circuit.
Roman scored in the premiere 150cc Open division of the Underbone championships while Montano posted another twin kill, ruling both premiere 180cc Open and 160cc Open classes of the Scooter division.
Roman was the only rider in the 10-man 150cc Open to break the two-minute barrier. He clocked the fastest laptime of 1:59.562 to post a gap of 23.791 seconds over runner-up Niño Fabian.
The win boosted Roman’s hopes for back-to-back Underbone King diadem as he moved to second overall with 42 points, just one point behind Masato Fernando.
Montano cruised with the fastest laptime of two minutes and 2.443 seconds before hitting the 180cc Open finish line after 22 minutes and 8.872 seconds.
He was more dominant in the 160cc event as he claimed victory 14.947 seconds ahead of runner-up Romer Corbe.
Juver Mirasol copped the 130cc scooter title over Mark Adrian Tan and Mayo Buraga.
In other events, Vrei-AR Suba posted his third straight victory in the 115 Novice division; Tracy Soyangco topped the 130cc Open; and James Aldrin Mendez bagged the 115cc Open crown.
