Triathlon trilogy’s 2nd leg kicks off June 30

THE SECOND of a triathlon trilogy unfolds from June 30 to July 1 at the scenic Playa Laiya in San Juan, Batangas, where over a hundred racers are expected to see action.

Organized by Bike King, the Tri United 2 features a long course race with a 2K swim-60K bike-15K run distance and the shorter 1K swim-30K bike-7K run sprint distance.

Up for grabs in the second of this three-edition race are medals and cash prizes for the top three winners in the elite male, female open, team competition, relay and the male and female age groups.

Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto will host a dinner to welcome the participants of the event sanctioned by the Triathlon Association of the Philippines.

The race will also be the first local triathlon event that will air live on video streaming via PLDT SME Nation.

Registration is ongoing at Bike King’s store in Bonifacio Global City, G Stop stores in Alabang and Greenhills, Starting Line in Alabang and Second Wind branches in Ortigas and Quezon City.

In the first leg, the national team dominated the male elite division with Nikko Huelgas finishing first in 1:30:13. Kevin Eijan Santos placed second at 1:39:39.

George Vilog, a veteran campaigner, was relegated to third at 1:41:20.
