Atlanta had to play the second half without John Collins, who hurt his left ankle while landing after an alley-oop pass and was limited to 17 minutes, and De’Andre Hunter, who left with soreness in his left side and played only seven minutes.

The Hawks got a lift from Jarrett Culver, a two-way contract player, who came off the bench to score nine points and grab a career-high 12 rebounds.

Atlanta, which had been having trouble shooting from the perimeter, took the ball inside in the first half. The Hawks led 70-50 at halftime and 36 of those points came in the paint. One of the biggest beneficiaries was Capela, who had 12 points on perfect 6-for-6 shooting, the 10th time in his career that he’s scored 10-plus points on a perfect mark in a single quarter. Atlanta finished with 62 points in the paint.

The Hawks took a 13-point lead when A.J. Griffin’s floater made it 34-21 at 1:27 and Atlanta led 38-27 after one quarter. Orlando never got closer than eight points and the Hawks went on a 15-2 run in the second quarter to stretch the lead to 18. Atlanta led 70-50 at halftime.
