Talk ‘N Text edges Alaska, 80-72, in PBA Governors Cup

MANILA, Philippines –Talk ‘N Text rekindled a fourth-quarter flameout to edge Alaska, 80-72, Saturday night in the 2012 PBA Governors Cup at the Mindanao Civic Center in Tubod, Lanao del Norte.

The Tropang Texters saw their 20-point lead chopped down to just three, 75-72, after the Aces went on a 19-2 tear capped by Jason Forte’s two free throws.

Ranidel de Ocampo though, came through at the most opportune time for TNT with a clutch triple that gave his team a 78-72 cushion with 1:05 left.

Import Paul Harris topscored with 25 points and grabbed 17 rebounds while Larry Fonacier added 16. De Ocampo scored just nine points.

Lanky forward Japeth Aguilar made two free throws that put Talk ‘N Text ahead, 73-53, with 9:01 remaining.

Alaska absorbed its sixth setback in seven games and worse, got booted out for a playoff spot.

Forte led the Aces with 24 points while Mac Baracael finished with 20 points.
