MANILA, Philippines — Philippine women’s football team star Sarina Bolden has parted ways with Japanese club Chifure AS Elfen Saitama as she is set to transfer to Western Sydney Wanderers FC in the A-League Women.

The WE League team on Wednesday announced that the Filipino striker has canceled her contract “after a mutual agreement.”

Bolden will take her act to the Western Sydney Wanderers FC of the A-League Women.

She became the second national team member to play in the Australian league, joining Jaclyn Sawicki of the Western United FC.

Bolden only made four appearances for AS Elfen in the 2022-23 WE League season. She expressed her gratitude to her club since 2021.

“The time I spent in Elfen was the most challenging time in my life, and at the same time, it was the best time I felt rewarding,” Bolden said. “I would like to thank all the players. I was stimulated and encouraged every day. I really appreciate it. I’m grateful to the coaching staff who have spent countless hours to make the team at their best, and they are still working hard to make it a good season.”

“I am a member of this club and I am proud to call myself a member of the Elfen team. I believe that Elfen will continue to grow and become a club that will do its best,” she added.

Bolden, who has 17 goals in 29 caps for the Filipinas, is also preparing for their historic Fifa Women’s World Cup stint next year.
