MANILA, Philippines–Already a lock for the award thanks to his indefatigable play and Barangay Ginebra’s deep campaign, Gin Kings’ resident import Justin Brownlee on Friday took home the Best Import honor for the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
The American forward claimed his third Best Import award after averaging 28.5 points, 10.7 rebounds, 6.4 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.6 blocks throughout the midseason showcase.
Brownlee beat San Miguel’s Devon Scott and Magnolia’s Nick Rakocevic and added another feather to his already stacked hat in the leading pro league. He was awarded ahead of Game 4 of the title series against Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

He garnered 1,289 points from a balloting system that involved statistical points, scribes covering the season, and the players themselves.
Brownlee is also set to tab another milestone as his bid to become a naturalized citizen nears completion. All that’s left for the Atlanta, Georgia native to become a full-fledged Filipino is the President’s signature of House Bill No. 6224.
