MANILA, Philippines—Jonathon Simmons sparked NLEX to a come-from-behind 110-108 win over TNT on Wednesday in the penultimate game of his short stint in the PBA Governors’ Cup at Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

Simmons sizzled for 45 points as the Road Warriors overcame a 15-point deficit and moved into a share of the lead with the idle Converge FiberXers at 3-0 at the expense of their sister team Tropang Giga.

“I really don’t know what happened and how we won the game. I thought it was a lost ballgame,” said NLEX coach Frankie Lim.

NLEX prevailed despite weathering the early onslaught of TNT’s Jalen Hudson, who scored 21 of his 39 points in the first quarter.

But the Road Warriors brought their way back led by Simmons and with help from teammates who were also key in the win.

Kevin Alas scored 10 of his 13 points in the fourth quarter, Sean Anthony produced 15 points and six rebounds while Tony Semerad and Kris Rosales combined for 18 points.

The Road Warriors got the lead after 10 straight points, with Simmons capping it off with a jumper for 104-98.
But TNT got a chance to force overtime with five seconds left but RR Pogoy, who had 21 points, missed a layup before the buzzer.

TNT lost after two wins to open the season-ending conference.

NLEX 110 — Simmons 45, Anthony 15, Alas 13, Semerad 10, Trollano 9, Rosales 8, Nieto 7, Ganuelas-Rosser 3, Pascual 0, Gabo 0.
