MANILA, Philippines—Jalen Hudson has been doing a little bit of everything for TNT in the PBA Governors’ Cup.

But as far as Jojo Lastimosa is concerned, Hudson is capable of doing much more especially with his playmaking.

“My challenge with Jalen today is that he has to have at least 10 assists in this game,” Lastimosa said after 93-85 win over Magnolia on Friday at Ynares Center in Antipolo.

“Because if your assist ratio is high, it means that the other guys are going to be wide open because you have lots of opportunities to get some assists because the ball is in his hands the whole time,” Lastimosa said. “I don’t know how many assists did Jalen have today. Five only? Okay, that’s good enough.”

Hudson is averaging 27.8 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks through four games, leading the Tropang Giga to a 3-1 start.

Against the Hotshots, however, Hudson had a subpar outing with 14 points on 4-of-17 shooting from the field, four rebounds and five assists.

Lastimosa didn’t put too much into Hudson’s shooting struggles and instead stressed the importance to get his teammates involved more.
