ANTIPOLO — Meralco vented its ire on Blackwater on Saturday, hacking out a 125-99 victory to get back into the winning column of the PBA Governors’ Cup.
Allein Maliksi and import KJ McDaniels and took turns at scoring all night long at Ynares Center here for the Bolts who improved to 3-1.
“The guys came in focused. They were loose and focused on what we needed to do and they got the job done,” said head coach Norman Black, whose charges were in control right from the jump.
Maliksi finished with 30 points while McDaniels 24 that went with 15 boards and eight assists.
Anjo Caram turned in a season-best 18 points off the bench, while Aaron Black chipped in 17 more in the scoring effort that subsequently erased the bitter taste of a stinging loss to Terrafirma a week ago.
Blackwater had five guys scoring at least 11 points, but hardly put a dent on the fine play of Meralco which commanded with leads as big as 30 points.
The Bossing dropped to 1-3 and will replace import Shawn Glover in the next game with Troy Williams. The former put up 20 points and seven rebounds with his success in attendance.
Meralco will try to get a streak going against San Miguel Beer in the Thursday double-header, while Blackwater hopes to stop its bleeding versus Terrafirma in the curtain-raiser.
