PVL: Adorador, Paat help Chery Tiggo disrupt Cignal
MANILA, Philippines — Shaya Adorador led a collective effort as Chery Tiggo made a rousing debut in the 2023 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference after sweeping Cignal, 27-25, 25-19, 25-22, on Tuesday at Philsports Arena.
Starting life without Dindin Santiago-Manabat, Adorador was one of the Crossovers, who stepped up to give their returning coach Aaron Velez a successful season debut after delivering a game-high 16 points, 11 digs, and five excellent receptions.
Article continues after this advertisementTeam captain Mylene Paat also showed the way with 15 points off 13 attacks, one ace, and a block, while EJ Laure chipped in 13 points and five receptions.
“I’m really happy because the coaches and the players really worked hard for this match. Thank you also to the management who never stopped supporting us,” said Velez in Filipino.
“It’s really more about our composure. From the start, our preparation was all about teamwork. Our camaraderie, our communication should be always on point, and trust each other.”

Cignal only committed 11 errors but Chery Tiggo dominated the attacking with a 57-35 differential.
Ces Molina lifted the HD Spikers with 16 points, while Ria Meneses had 11 markers.
