PBA: Jordan Williams drops 57 as Terrafirma bests Blackwater
MANILA, Philippines–Jordan Williams beat out debuting Troy Williams in their high-scoring import matchup as Terrafirma posted a 119-106 victory over Blackwater in the PBA Governors’ Cup on Thursday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Williams scored 57 points, two more than his Bossing counterpart who saw action for the first time, but got the more important goal as the Dyip registered their second win after four starts in the season-ending conference.
He made 18 of 34 shots, grabbed 11 rebounds, dished out five assists along with two steals and two blocks in another impressive showing for the Dyip reinforcement.
Terrafirma’s triumph came despite the contest being delayed for several minutes in the second quarter due to a power outage that could be connected to a huge fire that broke out near the Big Dome.
The lull didn’t affect the Dyip, even if the Bossing threatened several times in the second half behind the other Williams on the floor.
Juami Tiongson also played big for Terrafirma with 27 points, seven rebounds and five assists while Eric Camson had 17 points and nine rebounds.
Blackwater slipped to a 1-4 record on a night Williams making 15 of 33 attempts and also tallying 14 rebounds and nine assists after replacing Shawn Glover.
The Williamses’ output came after TNT’s Jalen Hudson delivered 57 points in defeating Converge the other day at the same venue.
