MANILA, Philippines—Blackwater decided to bring back import Shawn Glover in a bid to overcome a miserable campaign in the PBA Governors’ Cup.
The Bossing activated Glover on the eve of their match against Barangay Ginebra on Sunday after losing all three matches with former NBA player Troy Williams.
League rules allow teams to once again field their original imports.
Blackwater is near the bottom of the standings with a 1-6 record, with its only win produced with Glover reinforcing the squad.
Glover averaged 23.3 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.0 steals in four games that saw Bossing go 1-3 before tapping Williams.
Williams produced 39.0 points highlighted by a 55-point explosion in his against Terrafirma, with 11.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.0 blocks.
But Blackwater dropped all three games to Terrafirma (119-106), Rain or Shine (122-117) and TNT (138-116) with Williams in tow.
The remaining games are not favorable for the Bossing as two of three teams they’ll face after Ginebra have winning records.
Blackwater meets Converge on February 23 and Magnolia on March 8, with the Feb. 25 meeting with winless NorthPort sandwiched between those games.
