MANILA, Philippines—F2 Logistics notched its fourth season win in the Premiere Volleyball League’s All-Filipino Conference on Saturday against Cignal but Cargo Mover Kim Kianna Dy had another win of her own—gaining back her confidence.

In the Cargo Movers’ 25-23, 25-20, 25-23 sweep of the HD Spikers at Philsports Arena, Dy revealed her personal goal which is to gain back her composure when playing.

“I’m trying to get my confidence back and I’m trying to build it every training, every day. It’s very important because we’re reaching the end (of eliminations) so hopefully, it continues,” told the opposite hitter.

After finishing with just 11 markers in their last bout against Creamline, Dy finished with a game-high 22 points built on 21 successful spikes to fuel F2 to a 4-1 card.

Despite the win being a sweep, Dy and the Cargo Movers had to dig down deep to swat away the HD Spikers, who put up a tough fight especially in the third and final set.

“Almost every set was heavily contested. Coach told us to finish strong because if they fight, we’ll have a hard time. That was our mindset, do we want this to reach five sets or do we want to end this early? That’s what we were thinking,” Dy said.

Coach Regine Diego has seen Dy’s improvements firsthand despite only handling F2 Logistics for a short time.

“I’m happy because Kianna, Ara (Galang) and Elaine (Kasilag) are getting back on track. We’re still in the getting-to-know stage, it’s been two months. it’s hard to tell them right away to tell them to trust me or for them to tell me to trust them because I don’t know yet but now you can see that this one’s stepping up, this one needs confidence, etc.,” told Diego in Filipino

“It’s good that slowly, their confidence is rising and hopefully we end this with everybody contributing.”

With Dy’s upward progression and F2 piling up wins come the pressure of making the semifinals. As it stands, the Cargo Movers need to win just two of their three remaining games to clinch a spot in the semifinals.

But Diego is not thinking about that, not one bit.

“I don’t want to think about that (standings). I just want to get wins and take it one step at a time, I don’t want to think too much so we can be more prepared and we don’t get overconfident,” she said.

Dy, Diego and the Cargo Movers look to keep up their momentum when they square up against the Petro Gazz Angels, who are currently holding a 2-2 record, on Thursday at the same venue.
