MANILA, Philippines—F2 Logistics secured a seat in the semifinals after turning back lowly Army-Black Mamba, 25-15, 20-25, 25-20, 25-13, in the PVL All-Filipino Conference at San Juan Arena on Saturday.

The Cargo Movers booked their first semis appearance in the PVL since making their league debut last year.

“I’m happy because I’m part of this. Maybe this is already written and listed in F2 and PVL history and I’m happy that I’m with all of these girls, all of us have been working hard for this. We’re already done with one goal, hopefully, we achieve more,” said coach Regine Diego in Filipino.

Kim Kianna Dy, who has been with the organization since its days in the Pilipinas Superliga, was also ecstatic after bringing the Cargo Movers one step closer to the All-Filipino championship.

“I’m super happy that we’re in the semis, this is the first time in PVL but we still have a lot to improve on. We’re just very excited,” Dy said after finishing with a game-high 22 points.

The Cargo Movers started out hot in the fourth set, zooming to an 8-1 lead and widening the gap to 22-9.

Jessma Ramos brought the game to match point with a tip-in but Dy missed her service to end the bout. Ramos, however, doubled down and scored once more to give F2 the 25-13 set and match victory.

In the penultimate frame, F2 led by a measly point, 7-6, before rolling with an 8-3 blitz capped by Aby Maraño to take a 15-9 advantage.

With the game tied after two sets, Army was determined to take the upper hand after knotting the count at 18 in the third. But F2 responded and ended the set with a 7-2 run.

Aby Maraño scored 13 for the Cargo Movers, who also drew 23 excellent sets from Kim Fajardo.

Royse Tubino led all scorers with 19 points for the Lady Troopers, who dropped to 0-7.
