“I’ve seen a lot of schools in the UAAP and UST made me feel like a family. I love the people here, I like the way we work here and it really makes me a better player,” Obusan said. “I just want to make an impact so we can win some games in the UAAP.”

UST coach Pido Jarencio believes, the 6-foot-4 winger, who had an impressive stint for Toronto in the 2023 NBTC National Finals Division 1, will be a big boost for the Growling Tigers.

“Obusan will be a big help to us. He has a big body and can bang bodies inside and he can shoot outside,” said Jarencio in Filipino. “He is a good fit for our system in UST.”

The 18-year-old Obusan averaged 13.7 points on 27 percent shooting from deep, 4.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.0 steals in the national high school basketball tournament.

Obusan and Toronto were eliminated by the UST Tiger Cubs in the pool play.
