Eya Laure is UAAP Player of Week after willing UST past La Salle
MANILA, Philippines—When University of Santo Tomas needed an anchor to break La Salle’s nine-game winning streak, Eya Laure stepped up to the plate to do the unthinkable.
Laure exploded for 29 points to give the Golden Tigresses a statement win over the top-seeded Lady Spikers, 25-19, 14-25, 25-18, 25-12, which gave her the Collegiate Press Corps Player of the Week nod in the process.

On Wednesday, the star Tigress was also instrumental in downing University of the East, 25-17, 25-16, 25-17, with 17 markers.
After back-to-back spectacular performances, however, the captain emphasized the need for team effort if they want to reach the goal at hand—which is to win a title.

Laure edged fellow Tigress Bernadette Pepito, FEU’s Chenie Tagaod, NU’s Bella Belen and Adamson’s Kate Santiago for the weekly plum backed by San Miguel Corporation and the Philippine Sports Commission.
Up next for Laure and the Tigresses is the Oliver Almadro-led Ateneo Blue Eagles on April 15 at Philsports Arena.
