MANILA, Philippines—RJ Abarrientos and the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus failed to close out their quarterfinals series against the Goyang Carrot Jumpers as they absorbed a 87-80 loss in the Korean Basketball League at Goyang Gymnasium on Saturday.

Abarrientos, who was recently named Rookie of the Year, finished with 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field and five assists in 26 minutes for Ulsan.

The Filipino guard is coming off a 12-point, six-assist effort in Game 3 on Thursday where Ulsan cruised to an 84-69 victory.

Seo Myeong-Jin paced Ulsan with 18 points, half of which came from beyond-the-arc.

With Goyang’s season on the line, Dedric Lawson came up big with 35 points while Lee Jung-Hyun also helped the Carrot Jumpers stay alive with 15 points.

The winner of the series moves on to face the top-seeded Anyang KGC in a best-of-five semifinal.

Meanwhile, Justin Gutang and the Changwon LG Sakers are set to face The Seoul SK Knights arranged a semis date with Justin Gutang and the Changwon LG Sakers after completing a sweep of Jeonju KCC Egis, 77-72, on Friday.
