MANILA, Philippines — Kai Sotto went scoreless as the Hiroshima Dragonflies absorbed a tough 83-80 loss to the Shinshu Brave Warriors in the 2022-23 B. League season on Saturday at Hiroshima Sun Plaza Hall.
The 7-foot-3 center played in limited minutes, missing all of his three shots and tallying two rebounds and an assist.
Reo Maeda and Kazuya Mitsui scored 17 points each to lead Shinshu, which improved to a 27-28 record.
The Dragonflies dropped to 39-16 with Kerry Blackshear Jr. putting up a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Matthew Wright’s Kyoto Hannaryz also yielded to the Shimane Susanoo Magic, 79-71, at Kyoto City Gymnasium.
Wright was limited to eight points, two rebounds, and six assists as Kyoto slid to a 20-35 card.
Seiya Ando led Shimane with 22 points as three Magic players scored 20 markers to rise to 45-10.
SHIGA, SAN-EN LOSE
Kiefer Ravena tallied 11 points, three rebounds, and seven assists but the Shiga Lakes (13-42) suffered an 82-76 loss to the Osaka Evessa at Ookini Arena Maishima.
His younger brother Thirdy had eight points, seven rebounds, and four assists as the San-En NeoPhoenix (21-33) failed to take down the Kawasaki Brave Thunders, 90-83, at Kawasaki Todoroki Arena.
Dwight Ramos emerged victorious as he tallied four points, five rebounds, and four assists in Levanga Hokkaido’s 70-65 victory over the Ibaraki Robots to improve its record to 17-38 at Hokkai Kita-yale.
Carl Tamayo was scoreless and grabbed one rebound as the Ryukyu Golden Kings edged the Sunrockers Shibuya, 73-72, at Okinawa Arena.
Former PBA import Allen Durham led Ryukyu with 20 points, seven rebounds, and four assists to improve their record to 44-11.
Ray Parks Jr. remained inactive due to injury but the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins (39-16) beat the Fighting Eagles Nagoya, 84-71, at Nagoya Biwajima Sports Center.
