MANILA, Philippines—Jhanlo Sangiao needed only 58 seconds to dispatch Argentina’s Matias Farinelli in their catchweight bout in ONE Fight Night 9 at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Thailand on Saturday.

Sangiao wasted little time and caught Farinelli with a kneebar that led to the first-round stoppage.

The win improved Sangiao’s record to 6-0 including three victories since making his debut at ONE Championship in December 2021.

The 20-year-old Sangiao also deal Farinelli his first defeat after five straight wins.

Another Filipino in Denice Zamboanga also emerged victorious after she beat Brazil’s Julie Mezabarba by unanimous decision.

Zamboanga, the former top atomweight contender, notched her second consecutive win for a 10-2 record.

In the main event, Jonathan Haggerty knocked out Nong-O Hama in the first round to claim the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title.
