MANILA, Philippines—Rhenz Abando and Anyang KGC absorbed a 77-69 loss to the Seoul SK Knights in Game 1 of the Korean Basketball League Finals at Anyang Gymnasium on Tuesday.

Seoul held on to a slim two-point lead at the half, 43-41, before going on a masterclass third quarter where it scored 18 points to take a 61-54 lead before the payoff period.

Anyang failed to retaliate in the fourth quarter to give the SK Knights the early advantage in the season-ending series at 1-0.

Abando barely made an impact as a starter, playing for 20 minutes but ending up with just four points, two rebounds and an assist.

Omari Spellman’s monster double-double performance of 24 points and 11 rebounds was also put to waste for KGC.

Jameel Warney also had a double-double of his own but in a winning effort, registering 23 markers and 10 boards. Kim Seon-Hyung also chipped in with 20 to his name for the SK Knights.

Game 2 of the Finals will take place on Thursday at the same venue.
