MANILA, Philippines—Philippines’ Rose Jean Ramos bagged three silver medals in the women’s 45-kilogram category in the 2023 Asian Weightlifting Championships in Jinju, South Korea on Friday.
Rose Jean finished with silver medals in snatch, clean and jerk and the total in the 45kg division.
Thai Siriwimon Pramongkhol showed prowess in the competition with numbers of 77kg in snatch, 100kg in clean and jerk for a total of 177kgs.
Rose Jean finished closely behind with 73kgs in snatch then 88kgs in clean and jerk for a lift of 161kg in total.
Meanwhile, her sister Rosegie had 84-kg effort in snatch, besting Japanese foes Rira Suzuki (83kgs) and Chiaka Ajima (82kgs), in Group B of the women’s 49-kg division.
She finished with a total of 183kgs after a lift of 99kgs in clean and jerk.
Fellow Filipino Lovely Inan also had a strong lift of 103kgs in clean and jerk in Group B.
Competitors in group A of the 49-kg division will do their lifts at 5 pm, after which the podium finishers will be determined.
