MANILA, Philippines—The Philippines claimed three more podium finishes in kun bokator, a traditional martial art in Cambodia, at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games on Monday at Chroy Changvar Convention Center: Hall C in Phnom Penh.
Phillip Delarmino, Ryan Jakiri and Godwin Langbayan all bagged bronze medals in their respective events.
Delarmino took home bronze after dropping a 3-0 decision to home bet Chet Chon in the men’s combat 60kg semifinals.
Jakiri settled for third in the men’s 65kg semis after falling to Vietnam’s Van Cuong Huynh, 3-1.
Langbayan also failed to make the final in the men’s 70kg semifinals following a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Vietnam’s Duc Ngo, 3-0.
The Philippines earned its lone gold in the indigenous sport on Thursday courtesy of Angel Gwen Derla, who ruled the women’s single bamboo shield form of kun bokator.
