SEA Games 2023: Ariana Evangelista cops cycling silver for PH

PHNOM PENH—Ariana Evangelista pedaled her way to the silver medal of the women’s mountain bike race on Monday in Siem Reap at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games.
Indonesia’s Dara Latifah claimed the gold medal in the finals while Thailand’s Warinthorn Phetpraphan and Vipavee Deekaballes placed third and fourth in the contest set against the famed Angkot Wat.
Evangelista earlier topped her heat after defeating Malaysia’s Phi Kun Pan and compatriot Naomi Gardoce before winning the semifinal heat at the expense of Deekaballes of Thailand and Cambodia’s Khen Malai.
On Sunday, the Philippines won bronze in the mixed team relay of the cross-country mountain bike event.
