The national karate squad finished its campaign with two golds, five silvers and one bronze, a performance far better than the karatekas’ eight-bronze output last year in the Hanoi SEA Games.

Filipino-Japanese Sakura Alforte (women’s individual kata) and Lim (women’s -61kg kumite) delivered the golds while John Matthew Manantan (-67kg), Ivan Christopher Agustin (-84kg), Tsukii (-50kg), Remon Villanueva (-68kg) and Arianne Brito (+68kg) accounted for the silvers.

John Enrico Vasquez got the lone bronze in the men’s individual kata.
