MANILA, Philippines—Shania Mae Mendoza and Venice Vicente added two more medals to the Philippines’ tally in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in chess ouk chaktrang games at Royal University of Phnom Penh on Tuesday.
Mendoza succumbed to eventual gold medalist Thi Hong Nuang Doan of Vietnam, 1-0, in the women’s single 60-minute category for the silver medal.
Vicente, meanwhile, notched bronze after falling prey to fellow Mendoza in the semifinal.

The Philippines has been bountiful in the Ouk Chaktrang sport, winning medals a few days ago
The women’s team, consisting of Mendoza and Janelle Mae Frayna, also snagged a silver in the 60 minute double’s category on Saturday.
The men’s squad, meanwhile, took home bronze in the 60 minute quadruple team event.
Darwin Laylo, Paulo Bersamina, Jem Garcia and Rogelio Antonio comprised the men’s team which had to jump through five rounds before securing a podium finish.
