MANILA, Philippines—The men’s and women’s sepak takraw team of the Philippines notched two silver medals in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games at Olympic Complex: Basketball Hall NSTC on Thursday.
The men’s team finished in second place in the hoops takraw category, jumping over Cambodia, which finished with bronze but fell behind eventual gold medalist Myanmar.
The team of Jason Huerte, John John Bobier, Joshua Gleen Bullo, Rheyjey Ortouste, Ronsited Gabayeron and Vince Alyson Torino combined for a 660-point finish while the home bet team ended with 460. Myanmar amassed a total score of 680 to take gold.
Ttheir women counterparts also settled for silver in the same category of the women’s division with Myanmar and Cambodia also taking home gold and silver, respectively.
The squad of Abegail Sinogbuhan, Allyssa Bandoy, Deseree Autor, Jean Marie Sucalit, Kristine Lapsit, Mary Ann Lopez Finished with 570 points, sufficient for second place.
The champion Myanmar accumulated 750 markers in the offing while the home team gathered 230 markers to complete the podium at third place.
