PHNOM PENH—Angeline Colonia has been living up to her weightlifting pedigree.
The 16-year-old from Zamboanga City bagged a silver medal in the women’s 45kg on Saturday at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games.
Colonia accumulated a total lift of 148 kilograms after a combined effort of 68kg in the snatch and 80kg in the clean and jerk at the National Olympic Stadium here.
Colonia is a sister of 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympian Nestor Colonia and the niece of 1988 Seoul Olympian Greg Colonia.
“My brother taught me his techniques while my under is my coach. They inspired me to get into weightlifting,” said Colonia.
Myanmar’s Mya Zin OO clinched the gold with a 164kg lift.
