NATIONAL University sees a stronger campaign on all fronts when it hosts Season 75 of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) starting July 14 at the spanking-new Mall of Asia Arena.
After ruling a preseason event, the Bulldogs have been tagged as favorites in men’s basketball along with reigning champion Ateneo and powerhouse Far Eastern University.
NU also aims for a repeat of its championship romp in baseball and juniors basketball, while the men’s lawn tennis and men’s badminton squads hope to bag the title this time after last season’s runner-up finish.
“I think it will be a very good year for us in all events,” said league president Nilo Ocampo of NU. “We hope we can give everyone tough competition not just in basketball.”
The Bulldogs, led by last season’s MVP Ray Parks, battle the University of the East Warriors at 2 p.m. on opening day. University of Santo Tomas and FEU clash next at 4 p.m.
