PHNOM PENH—Rosalinda Faustino increased the clump of silver medals for the Philippine weightlifting team at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games.
The 15-year-old Faustino lifted a combined total of 184 kilograms following an 80 in the snatch and 104 in the clean and jerk, rewarding the country a fourth silver medal in two days.
Angeline Colonia (women’s 45kg), Lovely Inan (49kg) and John Febuar Ceniza (men’s 61kg) placed second in their respective weight categories.
Faustino nearly clinched the gold, but was unable to hoist 107 in her third attempt in the clean and jerk.
Indonesia’s Juliana Klarisa then seized victory with a 186 output.
With Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz skipping the Games, the nation’s gold medals are expected to come from Elreen Ando (women’s 59kg), Kristel Macrohon (+71kg) and defending champion Vanessa Sarno (-71kg).
