MANILA, Philippines—Sheena Toring was ruled out of the UAAP Season 85 women’s volleyball Finals due to a partial tear in her left knee.

National University athletic director Otie Camangian on Sunday told reporters that Toring will no longer be available for the remainder of the best-of-three Finals series.

Toring hurt her knee after landing on the foot of La Salle middle blocker Thea Gagate following a block attempt in the fifth set of their 25-18, 22-25, 25-22, 21-25, 13-15 loss in Game 1 last Sunday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Toring, who was the 2nd Best Middle Blocker last year, finished with six points in Game 1.

The starting middle blocker was in uniform but didn’t join the team warm-up.

Toring is currently cheering her teammates on the sidelines as NU tries to force a rubber match.

Chum Maaya filled in her void as a starter.
