Sibol Pilipinas dominates Malaysia for men’s MLBB gold in SEA Games

MANILA, Philippines—Sibol Pilipinas dominated Malaysia to capture the esports gold medal at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games at Nagaworld 2, Cambodia on Sunday.

The Philippines made easy work of the Malaysians, 3-0, in the men’s Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Finals to finish first in the competition.

The team of Angelo Kyle Arcangel, David Charles Canon, Marco Stephen Requitano, Michael Angelo Sayson, Rowgien Stimpson Unigo and Nowee Macasa joined forces to keep Malaysia game-less in the last bout of the tourney.

Already sporting an advantageous 2-0 lead, Sibol did not look back and tallied a 21-6 kill score in Game 5 to complete their momentous weekend in Phnom Penh.

Last night, the Philippines had to gut out a 2-1 semifinals win over Myanmar to advance in the gold medal match.

As it stands, Sibol is sitting at the top of the esports events in the SEA Games with five medals won over Cambodia, which has four hardwares of its own.

The Philippines holds a 2-1-2 gold-medal-bronze tally.
