MANILA, Philippines—College of St. Benilde exacted revenge over NCAA Season 98 Finals rival Letran, 78-66, in the Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup at San Juan Arena on Wednesday.

Migs Oczon spearheaded the Blazers, who improved to a 3-1 record, to the victory against the defending champions with 15 points, five rebounds and three assists while getting help from Felipe Marasigan, who finished with 14 points.

However, sweet shooter Oczon emphasized that the win may be big, but it is far off from what they want to see.

“It’s just another game. This is not yet the NCAA. My mindset stays the same either way. It’s a way for me to just stick to the process,” he said.

Kobe Monje unloaded 16 points and seven rebounds in the Knights’ defeat as they dropped to a 1-1 record.

La Salle, also notched a victory after giving Adamson a 77-67 beating behind Kevin Quiambao’s all-around game.

Quiambao had his fingerprints all over the ball as he finished with 15 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals to help the Green Archers move to a 3-0 standing in Group 1.

Cedrick Manzano and Matty Erolon turned in 15-point performances of their own but to no avail as the Soaring Falcons dropped to a 1-3 card.

University of the East dominated Faith College of Batangas, 119-64, en route to a 2-1 card.

Rey Remogat unloaded 20 markers and four dimes to give the Red Warriors a momentum-gaining victory.

The Bravehearts, who fell to a 0-4 record, relied on Lance Villamor with 13 markers but to no avail as they remained winless in the preseason.

Lyceum, meanwhile, squeaked past San Sebastian, 73-66, without its vaunted Big Three.

Without Enoch Valdez, Mac Guadaña and John Barba, Simon Penafiel and Renz Villegas put up 14 markers each to lift the Pirates to a 2-2 card in Group 1.
